Dr. Blanchard was born in Cadillac, MI. He completed his bachelor’s of science degree in Physiology at Michigan State University. Following his undergraduate education Dr. Blanchard attended University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2008. Dr. Blanchard graduated in the top of this class receiving several dental school awards and being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. During dental school, Dr. Blanchard volunteered at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, performing dental care for patients with physical disabilities.Dr. Blanchard continued his training, specializing in pediatric dentistry, at the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at The University of Michigan. Dr. Blanchard completed his training in 2010, earning a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. During his residency, he completed his master’s degree thesis on Unprofessional Online Postings by Dental Students: A Survey of Dental School Administrators and Dental Students. His research interests include the professional development of dental students and the use of technology in dental education.
